The Whole Fracking Debate Is Based On Bad Science

Business Insider -- In the debate over natural gas drilling, the companies are often the ones accused of twisting the facts. But scientists say opponents sometimes mislead the public, too.

Critics of fracking often raise alarms about groundwater pollution, air pollution, and cancer risks, and there are still many uncertainties. But some of the claims have little — or nothing— to back them.

For example, reports that breast cancer rates rose in a region with heavy gas drilling are false, researchers told The Associated Press.

And Susan G. Komen for the Cure, a major cancer advocacy group based in Dallas, said it sees no evidence of a spike, either.

Neither the spurious claims against fracking nor the unwarranted rosy scenarios are based on science, good or bad. These are irrational or emotional arguments that distort the actual scientific data. Sadly, not enough research has been done to prove either side of the issue. We should not be in such a fracking hurry and give the science time to catch up.

You could no longer drink the water from your well and many got very sick from it.

They don't even test the water for the chemicals that are injected to do the fracking, but they test it for other things. How does that happen???
