I can honestly say that I did not say I would boycott BP, nor have I boycotted.

Do you think a boycott of BP will help with the effectiveness of the cleanup?

Very few people who are "boycotting BP" have actually stopped purchasing from a BP-owned station, and those who have are statistically likely to have purchased BP-refined gas from another branded station. So knock yourselves out. The families in your community who you are hurting sure appreciate it.

It was about time somebody started a BP topic. Good thing you thought about it.

I rarely bought from BP before the oil spill because they were always 10 cents higher than other stations. After the spill, I refuse to go to BP, but here in FL, the news tell us that boycotting BP is misguided because local vendors own the stations, not BP. If local vendors go out of business, BP still makes money because it distributes oil to other stations, even the ones not branded BP.
Even so, I won't go to BP. Local vendor or no, I want to send a message to BP not to mess with the environment. BP is now offering some money to the local vendors in Gulf states like FL, so contrary to reports, the boycott is having an impact on BP. I have no hatred for local vendors and feel sorry for them. But I won't buy BP gas.
